Spring may Finally Be Here

Mind you, I am not saying it is spring, but KikiLaSois has taken to sitting on the plant shelves, something she only does when it gets warm.  Who knows why.

The photo below is Kiki lounging in one of my bird baths/serving dishes.  I took it last year.  This is a cat that loves sitting in my bowls.  If I don't cover them I can be sure of finding a cat in it.

Nothing, however, will match the day I walked into my old studio and found my five Siamese cats each sitting in a freshly trimmed bowl in a row on a table by the window.

Lots of daffodils are in bloom, but this little guy showed up by the pond this year.  I have no idea where it came from but it sure is cute!

We've been seeing lots of frog eggs in in the pond.  This big guy just showed up today

Sadly we seem to be missing our biggest white fish, Moby.  We are hoping she is hiding in the weeds, as mating season is starting  The males chase the females to the point of harassment.  They hide in weeds and roots to rest.

I haven't been doing a lot with clay as I have been trying to get my studio into a semblance of working order.  There's something about a clean studio that just calls to me.

Enjoy the week end and, as always, thanks for stopping by...........*s*

OOPS!

I just realized that I never connected this to Sunday Ceramics 14.  Go ever and take a look at the potters who meet up at Kim's.

Studio work has mostly been limited to cleaning and straightening my studio and chasing cats out of bowls.  This is a daily occurrence.  Part of the cleaning is making some covers for the front of my shelves.   It always amazes me how junk accumulates over the winter.

Enjoy the week ahead and again, thanks for stopping by..........*s*

    1. Hi Michele....It always surprises me when bulbs crop up in unexpected spots. You'd think after so many years of gardening I would be used to it!

  2. What is with cats and bowls?! I used to work for a potter that also ran a cat rescue, the cats, all 200 of them lived in the studio with us. They loved to sleep in the bowls, but we did not love the repairs to those bowls!
Awww, your poor girl fish, boys are the same in every species aren't they, haha!

  3. Hi Suzi,

Love the photo of the cat in the bowl and how funny it must have been to see your five cats in the bowls. A sure sign of spring seeing a daffodil.
    Happy Sunday

    1. Hi Meredith...I think some places are still waiting for signs of spring. I hope the lateness means a long summer and fall.

  5. Every pottery studio needs a cat or four ;) (unless of, you're allergic :( ) ... I have to strategically place platters and plates in shelves to make sure they're not in a kitty thoroughfare .... at least a couple have left their 'marks' ;)
We had to give up 4 beautiful koi when we moved here 6 yrs ago. I used to love it when they announced the arrival of spring. Hope your white one shows up soon.

    1. Hi Claylady....I've lost track of the number of cat print tiles I have 'made'. It must have been hard when you had to leave your koi. Don't they live forever?
Thanks for finding me and stopping by.

  6. Dearest Suzi,
Your Kiki is quite a character... but they can surprise you many times and be naughty. She looks like having a teary eye, hope she's fine!
Love the bowl she's sitting in.
Nature is awakening in your area as I read and we sure hope that your fish Moby will be safe in a hiding place.
    Sending you hugs with sunshine,
    Mariette

    1. Hi Mariette.....Kiki has hardly any mew and you have to get on top of her to hear her purr, but she can get into all sorts of naughty places, like the little refrigerator. The tear is some of my glaze stain she also got into.
