SNOW?

It's been snowing in a very half-hearted way for about four hours.  This little bird is from last year, but the birdies on the rail look just as cold and unhappy.  The ground is warm and wet enough for the snow to melt as it hits the ground.  Not so on the deck and steps.....real back breaker weather.  Careful everyone!

Thankfully we aren't deep in white stuff the way we were last year.  I don't love the squirrels as they will eat everything in sight and destroy stuff if given a chance.  Last lear was so rotten I did put out goat food for them.  The scarfed that down with abandon.

I've got my studio winterized to the point where I can turn the heater on.  Last night I left everything on low; it was 62 F. at 8:00 AM.  That is a bearable temp, but if I can get it up to 65-70 I will be thrilled. It will be interesting to look at the elctric bill when it comes in!  I've had to change my glaze and chemical storage a bit, so I do my own stuff, then sort and reshelf for awhile.  So far so good!

Our Holiday Sale at the South County Art Association continues through December 20.  So far we are doing much better than last year!  Oh frabjous day!  Calloo!  Callay!

As always, thanks for stopping by...........*s*

    1. Hi Linda....I do that a lot! Watch our for Phishing. I had an attempt today; evidently they weren't too bright. The whole thing was just too suspicious! Stay warm and enjoy the weekend!

    1. Hi Corrine....I seems that every time I start to complain about the weather something truly disastrous is happening elsewhere. Witness the west coast!
      I can live without snow.

  3. I hope you don't have anywhere to go today. Stay in and be warm and safe.
Squirrels are such a nuisance. They have been very destructive here. Nested in the ceiling of the studio, chewed wires, and this past year chewed the railing on our porch!

    1. Hi Michele....Believe me I stayed home yesterday, and had an order from Bailey arrive. It was supposed to arrive today so it was a nice surprise!
Squirrels are the worst! But you know that!

  4. Ugh, I'm not ready for the white stuff yet! I saw somewhere yesterday that it is considered to bring good luck if you sprinkle birdseed on your doorstep New Years day. Good luck for the birds that find it, haha!
Stay warm, I know all too well those cold studio days.....

  5. Dearest Suzi,
Hope you manage to stay cozy at the studio, in the home and for your birdies outside so they can get to their food... Tough times, come winter...
    Sending you hugs,

  6. always so strange to read of your winter while we are sweltering down here in Australia. For us it is putting out water for the birds and keeping it topped up for them as it evaporates so quickly.

    1. Hi Anna....I'm not sure what happened to my original reply. The internetzez must of eated it! Being a hot weather person, I could use a little swelter right now!

  8. I actually like winter - the bare trees, the birds (not squirrels) looking for the birdseed. I like a fire in the fireplace, hot chocolate, a cozy sweater . . .
I'm having the same electric issue with trying to keep my greenhouse just warm enough . . .

  9. Hi Judy....I think I dislike the dark as much as the cold; it's a real toss up. We haven't had many birds or any squirrels yet. The ground is bare so I think all are foraging on their own!

  11. Hi Carolyn....Thanks, we're over last years totals so we are very happy! The squirrel is from last year. It's a good thing squirrels are cute; it's their one redeeming quality!
