Camera Found

I forgot that I put it in the safe place I use when I have been taking pictures outside and am not going upstairs right away.  It's an old terrarium I use to keep the cats away from precious things.

I have been working on the bottom of Tyrian Turtle.  I generally use some sort of mandala on the bottoms of my turtles.  The rounded shape seems to call for it. The bottom is not generally seen, but an interesting design is a nice surprise when it's upended. Next I will wax the design so I can put in the background color without smearing or otherwise messing it up.

I don't know if this could be called a true mandala as it has five points instead of the eight I usually see.  It's very Atevi.  Those of you who read CJ Cherryh will get it.

We have had over two inches of much needed rain.  Everything is blooming, including the poppies!  This year I am also planting California poppies.  Toes crossed that they will reseed themselves from year to year.

I bought the dahlia and will buy more as I didn't get them up in time to avoid frost and winter!  I like having some in bloom because the toes I plant will not bloom until August!

It's sunny but below seasonal warmth.  I will be able to work in the garden this afternoon.  It should be warmer by them!

Enjoy the week end, and, as always, thanks for stopping by..........*s*

    1. Hi Linda....Thanks. I've seen the blue poppy once, many years ago. I'd love to try them too, but I understand that they can be difficult!

    2. the one and only blue poppy I saw was at the inn gary and I stayed at on our wedding night, the monte verde inn B&B, the next day the owner took us on a tour of the gardens and the poppy was blooming and the blooms were the size of dinner plates, well almost. amazingly beautiful.

  3. Dearest Suzi,
Glad you found your camera! Yes, we sometimes forget where we placed things and it is such a joy to stumble upon them later; unexpectedly!
Your turtle looks very nice underneath, like the design.
And your poppy is speaking of lots of happy rain that made it grow to the max.
    So are your happy dahlias.
Sending you hugs for the weekend.

  4. By the way, the Oakleaf hydrangea is hardy but since it was a baby, we kept it first season inside the greenhouse... Baby looks now like it was on Steroids!

  6. Gorgeous flowers. Can't wait to see the whole turtle. (Now that you've found your camera, maybe you can find my lens cap.)

  7. Hi Claudia.....Thanks. I now have my lens cap tethered to my camera strap. When Breezy (my dog before Winter) stole two of them in quick succession I decided I had to change my ways! I never did find the lens caps!

    1. Hi Anna.....Thanks. It's a part of my compulsive nature to decorate areas that will not be seen a lot. I always love seeing all the flowers and greenery from Oz during the dead of our winter. I'll keep posting greenery until the frost comes. Toes crossed that you don't go through a winter like the one we experienced!
