It's Always Sumthin'

I went outside in the rain and found this passion flower in bloom.  (This photo was taken last July)

It was a lovely surprise, unlike the phone call I got from my doc to tell me that my Lyme Disease tests showed that I do indeed have Lyme.  I got two bites last summer that never really healed.  There was no bullseye, but headaches, muscle aches, occasional scratchy throat, all of which I blamed on allergies until I was talking with my doc at my annual physical and had a FER DUH! moment.  No Erlichiosis or Babesius which sounds like small comfort, but isn't!  It does explain the sudden bouts of complete exhaustion I've been experiencing!

Needless to say I am only going to do what I can, but nothing more, for the coming Holiday Sale.  I find taking antibiotics can be extremely tiring.  My currents theory is that my body finds it easier to heal while asleep!

It's going to be a bit cooler today with temps in the 50's and lots of sun.  Toes crossed that it will dry out enough to rake, rather leaf blow, some leaves into the woods.

Enjoy the week end, and as always, thanks for stopping by............*s*

  2. oh my, how terrible, lyme disease can have lasting effects, hope you get tested after the antibiotics to be sure it's gone. years ago Gary got one bite and right afterwards he had to take two sets of the antiibiotics to get rid of the bullseye.

    1. Hi Barb....If they weren't so effective, antibiotics would be the pits. Are you taking a good probiotic? I find they help a lot!

  5. Dearest Suzi,
Oh no, what an ordeal... My brother, the biologist once came down with Lyme disease also. It takes a very long time to get over it.
Rest well and sleep enough; we also must respect our age.
    Hugs and blessings,
    Mariette

  6. It's scary how prevalent lyme is today. I know so many people who have been treated for it. We had a bad tick season here in Seagrove. As much as I dislike bug spray, I rarely went out in the yard without spraying it at least on my shoes and legs. Wishing you a speedy recovery.

    1. Hi Michele....Lyme seems to be traveling slowly south. I hear of more and more cases further south. I feel sorriest for those who live in places where doctors have no knowledge of Lyme. I had one friend who was visiting RI went back to Florida and developed the classic symptoms. Her doctors refused to even entertain the thought that it was Lyme. She ended up coming back to Yale to get treated.

  8. Oh No! My Dad had it back in the day and not very many knew about it. After three years he finally found a Dr. who diagnosed it! Hope your recovery is fast and steady. It is a good time of the year to slow down, make soup, keep company with a good cat, warm tea and afghan.

    1. Hi Sandy...I feel for all the people who went undiagnosed for all those years. There are still a lot of doctors who don't know how to treat Lyme.
I've decided to do what I can and enjoy it rather than make myself crazy. Uhhhhh....wait a minute....I haven't made any claims for sanity in many years!
