    1. Hi Linda....I've had some toes survive a mild winter planter close to the south facing slab of my house, but for the most part if I don't dig them they don"t survive.

    1. Hi Gary.....Don't give up hope! Dahlias bloom until frost. The caterpillar infestation dined on these until July. They only began bloom about ten days ago!

  3. Dearest Suzi,
Well, you have such beautiful Dahlias for autumn bliss, these photos speak volume.
ENJOY them! Husband Pieter mowed the lawn and did other garden chores so we're slowly settling in again after our whirlwind drive through Europe for attending a wedding in the South of France. Having seen all siblings, my Dad and friends was a blessing.
    Hugs,
    Mariette

    1. Hi Mariette....Thanks. Having a flower that blooms right up to frost is a real treat!
I"ve been reading about your whirlwind trip through Europe. How terrific that you got to go to a wedding and see family and friends!

    2. Terrific yes, but dear Suzi, I also had to do ALL of the 4,135 km. It took me about a week to adjust here back at home. Guess it was exhausting, not while I was there but it sure did catch up with me! Pieter would not manage to drive in that busy traffic at his age of 87+... So it is all on me now and I loved doing it. Also I visited all of my six siblings!
      Happy weekend to you,
      Mariette
