I use a black underglaze or...Hi Barbara....Thanks. I use a black underglaze or Amaco Velvet in one of their blacks with a brush. Brush sizes are only consistent within their brand, but I like a fine (usually 000 TO 1) natural bristle liner type brush. Yasutomo also make a nice small bamboo brush. Mostly it's experimenting to find what feels right. I've never found a synthetic bush that has the fluidity of natural bristle. I always work from a small mixing pan to avoid possible contamination of the whole jar. If I am experiencing drag I add a drop or two of glycerin. Oh, and I lightly spray the decoration with hair spray before I start lining.
