    1. Hi Linda....It was just the hot water pipe so it wasn’t as bad as we initially thought. Hares and Rabbits to you!

  2. Dearest Suzi,
Oh no, did both of you not take preventive measures for wrapping faucets and outside pipes up?
Wishing you all the best and hope it is resolved by now.
    Happy New Year!

    1. Hi Mariette...We haven’t had a real cold spell for several years. We’re well prepared now. Toes crossed we don’t have one our January’s where it doesn’t go above freezing.
Happy New Year to you and Pieter.

  7. Oh no! We've been fighting the same battle - today heat tape was not enough. The pipes froze but we caught them before they burst & put a space heater next to them.

One more day of deep freeze, here in Maine, anyway. It didn't get above freezing here today but should be in the 20s by Monday.

    1. Hi Lori......So glad you did not have to deal with burst pipes on top of everything else. We have one of my heat lamps aimed on the pipes.
It’s supposed to be in the mid thirties next week. Heat wave!!!
      Happy 2018.

  8. It's been a battle against the cold here as well. Today I realized that one of our outside spigots has a split in the pipe. We will have to call the plumber to replace it... and we thought they were well drained of water before the deep freeze. Thankfully we are enjoying 60 degree weather now.
Wishing you all the best in 2018!

  9. Hi Michele.....bummer about the faucet. Toes crossed you can turn it completely off until it is fixed.
It’s supposed to reach a balmy 48 F. today. It’s so nice to go outside to fill the bird feeders and not feel frost forming on you!
I have moved all my decorating up to the sunroom. Not as convenient as my studio, but a lot warmer.
All the very best to you and Jeff for a terrific 2018.
