It doesn't always have to be Mugs on Monday. Here are two manatee whistles waiting to be glazed and decorated.
The Stegosaurus started out as a dragon maquette and morphed into this. I guess I wasn't paying attention!
My favorite pie plate has developed a crack so I had to use a Pyrex plate to make
Banoffee Pie........ IT WAS DELICIOUS!
We woke up to snow this morning. A few heavy, wet inches fell; nothing like what our local weather mavens have been having so much fun predicting! Snow in March is not unusual here.
It's mostly melted now.
Enjoy the week ahead and, as always, thanks for stopping by..............*s*
manatee monday, ha, was the plate fairly new if now why would it develop a crack ? that pie is making me hungry
ReplyDeleteHi Linda.....Monday can be for many things! The pie plate is about twenty years old. It could be old age, but I probably will never really know. I will use it as a salad dish from now on.
DeleteThe banoffee pie looks wonderful, and I am quite sure that the colourful Stegosaurus had to be shut out of the kitchen when the pie was put on the table! (Stegosauruses are enthusiastic and messy pie eaters. Their bad table manners led to their near extinction at about the time that early humans first started to eat their meals around a communal table!)
ReplyDeleteHi Peter.....You can't let a Stegosaurus near any sort of pie and as for barbeque.....the less said the better!
DeleteSnow: just what I blogged about a minute ago :)
ReplyDeleteHi Gary.....Ours melted quite quickly; toes crossed that you are back to spring (real spring as opposed to calendar spring!) soon!
DeleteYour whistles are always such fun!
ReplyDeleteI am down to a pyrex pie plate as well. :-(
Hi Michele...Thanks. Pyrex plates basic and functional, but they sure do work. I have used one in the microwave since the included plate broke!
DeleteLove the manatee whistle! Perfect for a florida flutist. And that pie looks amazing too. Yum!
ReplyDeleteHi Claudia...Thanks. The hardest thing about making them is tuning them. I'm just beginning to explore making 'fluts'.
DeleteDearest Suzi,
ReplyDeleteWOW, that is late snow but I do hope it warmed up meanwhile.
We too had some very cool days with mean wind blowing but the mild and warm days have returned so we don't need the heat in the house anymore.
Hugs,
Mariette
Hi Mariette....It has been warming up, but colder again today. This is typical spring for New England!
DeleteOne of my students has a mantra: Let the clay become what it will.” Manatees are pretty great.
ReplyDeleteHi Lori....Sounds like a good mantra!
