Kittens and Clay

Or should I say clay and kittens?

These are tiles that periodically surface in my studio.  I have no idea where they came from, but I did glaze them last winter.  I found them again and began doing some drawings on them.  I draw in pencil which is easily erased with architect's cleaning bags, and burns out easily.  I don't usually draw insuch detail but I needed to get the mermaid placement right.

We brought Lucky Peach and babies in a week ago.  They are growing hand over fist, eating more and more solid food and becoming playful.  Mom and babies look healthy with clear eyes and good coats.  To be in this shape she could not have been on her own for long..  Hoiw anyone who can dump a pregnant cat or any animal is beyond me!

This weekend we are going to make a bigger space for them.

We didn't realize how tiny Peach is until we brought her inside.  I think she's no more than eight or none months old, still a baby herself.

Have a great weekend and as always, thanks for stopping by......*s*

    1. Hi Barb.....They become more of a handful every day. Lucky Peach ate scrapings of lobste r salad from my finger yesterday afternoon.
I am enjoying working on the tiles.......may have to make more, rather than purchase.

  3. Sometimes momma cats run away to have their kittens if they can't find a suitable secure place to have their kittens. I have always provided my momma cats with a nesting box hidden away. They are so sweet to see playing there. what is an architect's bag ?

  4. Hi Linda.....I agree about momma cats needing a safe place to have kittens. When I was still raising Siamese I had a special drawer that my momma loved.
An architect's bag or pad is a fabric bag filled with some sort of erasing material that is used for cleaning up drawings. If you Google it, you will get a good description and places to buy.

  5. Dearest Suzi,
Oh, there are such evil people out there with absolutely no feeling... Hard to imagine how anemone could throw out such a kitty-mom!
She is so fortunate for having found you and so happy that things look good for her and the babies, for now. Hope they will get adopted by a caring human!
Sending you hugs from a wet Georgia. Oh the rains this summer...
