Hello? July?

But where did June go?

Finally the daylillies are starting to bloom.  They are a few weeks late this year which is not surprising considering how cold our spring was.  It didn't start to get warm until the middle of June.
Now everything is going like gangbusters to make up for lost time.

I think I bought the double yellow below when my pond guy was going out of business.  Our caterpillar infestation of a few years ago almost did it in.  I am delighted at how well it has come back.

The dark red is one I bought for Proge, again from the pond guy. This one is on the edge of the pond.

And last, one of our many frogs.  Because what is a pond without frogs?  We have at least seven; the croak all night.  It's one of the comforting sounds of summer.

I have been getting back into my studio now and them.  I am trying out paper clay.

We'll see, grasshopper........we'll see....

As always, thanks for stopping by...........*s*

  1. Dearest Suzi,
Well, we too have a frog concert going on all summer and we both love it!
Can't hear it from inside with the double glass though, as our pond is quite a distance still from the house.
Rescued a turtle yesterday, it had fallen off the front patio into the gutter where the water runs off... It was on its side and desperately trying to get out. So I carried it to the pond behind the house and it ran into the water!
    Hugs,
    Mariette

  2. Hi Mariette.....Good for you for the turtle rescue. We don’t often see them, although we did have a baby snapping turtle several years ago. Proge found him in the pond. We took him to a nearby river. We still don’t know how he found our little pond.
It’s a bit early, but enjoy the rest of the week and weekend.

  4. I don’t think there is anything better than a frog singing in the middle of summer. Bullfrogs are the best❣️ And so happy it’s lily season! They are stunners!

  5. Hi Sandy...Thanks. Due to circumstances beyond my control I haven’t done anywhere near the stuff I had planned on last winter. Plus or cold, wet spring didn’t help seeds I did plant. I finally broke down and actually purchased a pot of morning glories.
I am enjoying your garden updates enormously. Garden on!

  6. Hi Suzi those double day lilies are very nice. Our frogs are singing even though it is winter here... then again I'm near the coast and rarely get temps below 5C. If it rains they sing.
