Aloe #4

The aloe stump is putting out a fourth sprout. I thought at first it was a rootlet, but after a week it has begun to look like a sprout.

Even though I may be living in a jungle of aloes, palms et al by spring, I get a lot of pleasure out of the way plants survive and flourish. There should be many plants to go out by the pond come warm weather.

After a few days of sun and warmth it looks like we are in for a week end of wind and chilly rain.

As always, stay safe, and thanks for stopping by...........*s*

  1. Dearest Suzi,
Growing your own plants from cuttings is oh so rewarding!
We did have 79℉ yesterday and again it is a mild and sunny day.
Sunday at night it will be near freezing though...
But time is racing so fast so before we know it will be spring again!
    Hugs,
    Mariette

    1. Hi MAriette.....Our sunny days have given way to buckets of rain being dumped on us. The bright side is that here is little danger of forest fires, and the water table is the highest it has been in years.
      Have a lovely day.

    2. Suzi, two positives. We have sunny weather but tonight the first frost! Needs to stay good for letting the pressure wash guy complete the house on Tuesday and then the painters do the exterior...

  2. After today we are expecting the big cool down. I'm using my solarium growing some succulents and one aloe plant. Am now thinking of setting up for some winter lettuce and cool season crops. still trying to figure out what type of containers, I have plastic shelving because the windows are at mid level and face south but want to contain the water so it doesn't leak on the floor since the bottom half is wood. we shall see grasshopper as you always say, lol, happy growing

  3. Hi Linda...We are chilling but still no killing frost, which is fine with me. You are so fortunate to have your solarium. And yes water dripping is always a problem. I use a lot of disposable, aluminum baking sheets. My dream is to build a greenhouse off my studio.
    Enjoy the day.
