Last night our very old hot water tank bit the dust. We knew ir was in process of dying, just did not expect such a spectacular demise! Went downstairs to water being sprayed out of the release spigot and water, water everywhere. Fortunately it's a cement slab so no flooring was damaged, but yes a mess, because water.....needing to be mopped. Cursory clean-up last night; not really what one wants to do at midnight!
Dealing with it all this morning.....looks like the downstairs will be getting a long overdue, very much needed, thorough cleaning!

Yikes. I actually had thoughts of what my closet would be like if my water heater gave out...it sits in a storage area full of boxes of books. They would all be ruined. So sorry yours bit the dust, and hope the cleanup isn't too gruesome.
ReplyDeleteFortunately most of the wet stuff was junk that should have been tossed long ago. I did toss some boxes and plastic I had put aside for pottery stuff, easily replaced. It always amazes me that so much useless stuff accumulates when I am not paying attention.
