At first I thought this was a very big owl, then realized it's a very big hornet's nest. It did not really become visible until surrounding leaves dropped. Although it's just across the yard we have not been bothered by stinging bugs. I guess they have been happy with being out in the trees.
Cloudy, windy weather continues, but the rain appears to have stopped, at least for the time being.

Glad you avoided the nest, whether it's in use or not. Hope the storm didn't cause any (much) damage in your area.
ReplyDeleteWe had one branch come down, nothing terrible. Wind never got bad. Lots of very high surf, so small craft warnings out.
