I planted all the amaryllis in one large planter a few weeks ago.
They are sprouting nicely with a few potential bud stalks showing. When I grow new bulbs the bud stalk always comes up first. When I replant bulbs it’s anybody’s guess.
I had one bloom in July last year. We’ll see, grasshopper....we’ll see.....

ReplyDeleteHi Linda....I sprinkle ground chili peppers on the rims of my pots. It is not loved. I also grow a lot of my plants on pebbles in water. Keeps the furries out and get humidity into the air, a constant problem I The wood heat.

ReplyDeleteBelieve it or not, we have had for years some of our Amaryllis growing in the wood garden. But there of course is a climate difference between your area and ours.
In Indonesia they grew them outdoors a lot; quite a sight!

Hi Mariette.....I love the way amaryllis look in a garden. One reason I opted to put my bulbs in one planter was the get a feeling of mass growth rather than single stalk blooms.
