Candlemas Day

Half your wood,
And half your hay
You should have left on Candlemas Day.

Only we call it Groundhog Day!

This is a photo I took of Woodrow May 2015 before he left for other climes, or perhaps the call of a lady woodchuck.

His favorite entrance was on the west side of the shed so even if he were still here, he would not have seen his shadow!

This is a tile I did three years ago as a special request!  I think he looks rather tentative about coming out of his hidey-hole!

We're expecting another great day with sun and high 40's.  Lots of rain is expected in a day or two.

Enjoy the day and, as always, thanks for stopping by..........*s*

Hey Diddle Diddle!

For Mugshot Monday:

These are three views of the same mug painted and ready for the kiln.  The colors are a little off because everything is waxed.

We have had a day of sun and clouds with highs in the 50's.  We had door and windows opened to get fresh air into the house.  If this keeps up we could have daffodils by early March.  I don't think they bloomed until April last year!

As always, thanks for stopping by............*s*

Success! At Last!

This is a test!

I think I have managed to solve my posting problems!  I switched to Chrome and everything seems to be working.

We'll see, grasshopper......we'll see.......

Posting

I'm posting this from my iPad.  There are no photos because I am still learning how to transfer photos from my MacBook.  I suppose I could try taking photos with the iPad.

Hopefully this will show up on my MacBook!

We'll see, grasshopper, we'll see.........

As always, thinks for stopping by.............*s*

HURRAH!

It's taken a long time, but I am finally able to be in my studio and work for more than twenty minutes without feeling like I am going to collapse from exhaustion.

I've been alternating between cleaning and painting.  This little guy is an experiment with various colors, brushing, and design.  It's kind of a hodgepodge it's goofy way.  It will be interesting to see how it fires.

The weather is typical for Southern New England.  It was down in the teens last week, up in the forties and fifties over the week end, and very sunny and in the high thirties today.  There was a lot of rain; ponds are finally beginning to fill to normal levels.

Stay warm, and as always, thanks for stopping by...........*s*

Twelfth Night

Old Christmas is past;
Twelfth Night is the last'
And we bid you adieu,
Great joy in the new!

Twelfth Night is traditionally a feast of fools.  There is role reversal with the peasants ruling the evening.

The Chorus of Westerly always does a wonderful Twelfth Night celebration.  If anyone lives reasonably close it's not to be missed!

I've had the edge of a cold this week but am feeling much better now.

Cold today but we are going to see a warming trend in a few days!  YES!!!

Stay warm, and, as always thanks for stopping by.........*s*
